Ektachrome E100 is Kodak's modern E-6 transparency film, reintroduced in 2018 with ultra-fine grain and a clean, neutral color palette. It offers slide-film clarity without the extreme saturation of Velvia.
Character & look
E100 renders color accurately and cleanly, with neutral-to-slightly-cool balance, natural skin tones and beautifully controlled contrast for a slide film. Grain is essentially invisible and sharpness is excellent, giving projector-ready transparencies with a refined, editorial look. Compared with Fuji's slide films it is less green-biased and more neutral, making it flexible across portraits, product and landscape. Like all slide film its latitude is narrow, so exposure must be precise, but within that window it delivers gorgeous, true-to-life color that scans exceptionally well and holds up under enlargement.

Shooting & development tips
Meter carefully and consider bracketing — slide latitude is about a stop each way. It has a neutral base, so it is easy to color-correct in scanning; expose for the highlights to protect them.

E100 is neutral and natural with moderate-to-high saturation; Velvia is intensely saturated and contrasty. Choose E100 for accuracy, Velvia for landscape punch.
